I am writtin...I really do appreciate your comment. I am writting this as I remembered it from when I was in high school. I also had letters of recommendation from a few high ranking officers in the Navy who were friends with my father and gave me updates and Academy catalogs. I cannot remember their names so I left them out. <BR/><BR/>I was accepted (received the full packet) but that comes later. Something about my father saying they will bounce a quarter off my bed at 4 am and I had to respond right away. I was too prissy for anyone to bounce a quarter or anything off my bed at 4 am. I will change the post to say the two letters were for nomination and not appointment. <BR/><BR/>When I received the letters of nomination to me and my family ...I was already in. <BR/><BR/>I have a few questions about the military schools for my son if you have a few minutes. Both are sources of nominations to the service academies, but you need both a nomination and an appointment from the academy itself. Letters of acceptance only come on the appointment side of the equation. I've been part of the admissions process for over 15 years for one of the academies and served on two senator's service academy selection boards.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
